“GuerilLA, the Improv Everywhere-offshoot in Los Angeles, recently put up their newest mission, Aerial Philanthropy. The group threw dollar bill airplanes off of a parking deck in Los Angeles by the ArcLight Theatre. You’ll notice Skylar Stone randomly happened to catch one of the bills.”

I’ve posted about Benjamin Zander before, but it’s always great to see him present again with a live demo for a mini master class! Zander rocks along with Rozie (Zanders inspiration)! Buy his book “The Art of Possibility“.
“Opportunity is always one sentence away.”
“Always give an A!”
“When you make a mistake, say, HOW FASCINATING!”
“The only conductor to ever lead the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Zander is a prophet of human potential and an unrivaled champion of joie de vivre. Watch as he helps unlock the boundless potential of a 15 year old cellist and teaches the entire Pop!Tech audience what it means to live in a world of possibility. “

If your in the Boston/Cambridge area this weekend be sure to swing by Club Passim’s awesome Campfire Music weekend festival going on all weekend through monday night! This is their big 10th year anniversary throwing this event! Lots of great tunes ranging from guitar, cello, violin, banjos, beatboxing, singing, piano, and tons of other great folk music live while dining in on veggie planets tasty food! I’m there most of this weekend with friends, so throw me a note if your going or look out for me.
Radiohead again innovating with new ways in seeing music!!! I’ve seen tons of great innovations in data visualization, but its takes some gut to make it mainstream like Radiohead! Remember that creativity is as much about perspective than anything else!

For those of ya’ll that smiled throughout the hilarious viral video collection “Internet People” comes another sweet video poking fun at the widely successful web2.0 world titled “Here Comes another Bubble“.
These videos are fairly true, and gives any non-web geek a quick run through of this past years web2.0 and viral video world.
Woa! People crashing through dry walls, flying boxes, and debris while gliding through slimmers of water above you on a transparent surface, stomping furiously through rooms, pumping their arms and feet to music, under, over, and on all sides of you! Very cool! Check out their video above, hit up their website, and go get tickets for their brief NYC visit!
“Att: New Yorkers. Get your credit cards ready, and book your standing space at ‘Fuerzabruta’, one of the most unique shows you’ll ever see. ‘Fuerzabrutaâ’ is a celebration of pure physicality, where performers move seamlessly between three stages – ground , air and underwater – to a thumping score that’ll make you feel as if you’re in an experimental Paris nightclub. Sexy, exhilarating and breath-taking to say the least. “There are people who see the show that dance and stomp and get caught up in the physical parts, while some just watch with their mouths hanging open” says co-creator Diqui James. The audience is obliged to stand during the performance, but really, you’d be giving the same amount of standing ovations anyway. Fuerzabruta is on at the Daryl Roth Theatre until February 17. Tickets are $70 but a limited quantity of $25 rush tickets are made available at the box office 2 hours before show time (cash only)” via coolhunter

Tons of great acoustic music, awesome food at Veggie Planet, labor day weekend= Club Passims “Cutting Edge of the Campfire Weekend” with over 100 musicians rocking it out all day into the wee hours of the night in Harvard Square! I’ll be floating in and out this four day event ($25=4 day pass) checking out past favorites and awaiting new ones. If your in the area, swing by for some great tunes or dig around their schedule to figure out who you might like. I’ve already spotted one I’d really like to check out; Lindsey Mac.

Here’s another pretty sweet interactive visual music map suggester(TuneGlue). You type in a band name, expand to see “like-bands”, delete a few, lock down the primaries, and after a few clicks you have a dozen more bands to check out.
The interface is simple, the branching is nice, and the suggestions are pretty good. It would be cool if a “listen” button was incorporated into the pod options rather than seeking a sound sample on your own. Be awesome if you could use this software for your own desktop mp3 collection as well..fun times at parties if ya ha a big touch screen for guests.(Microsoft Surface Table, or Jef Hans multi-touch wall)
