Yup, I definitely know what you mean about the uniqueness and beauty of some individuals who come from a mixed ethnicity (i.e. Catherine Bell, Yamila Diaz-Rahi, Phoebe Cates, and Shakira to name a few).

I've never been to NY, but SoCal and NorCal are pretty diverse IMO. Certain parts of Phoenix (AZ) are becoming more and more diverse with the influx of more and more people from California and other some of the other states, but we still have a ways to go.

yeah, it'll be an ever mixed population down the road....everyone will be asian somehow ;) give or take a few hundred years.
However it is odd how many people i speak to tell me the USA is one of the most diverse places...though they probably mean boston, nyc, LA, or SF...maybe some places in TX....I've been to nyc and london, and nyc seems more diverse...I have a friend who is a 16th of everything(you know who ya are)...I keep asking her what she is..shes like, 1/2 romanian, 1/16, chinese, irish, indian, malaysian, spanish, etc....and you can tell, she looks amazing.

I wonder if this is all in vain as judging someone's identity is becoming more and more difficult as cultures become closer. For example, it might be difficult to head into Brazil or Malaysia and try to differentiate an individual's ethnicity. And another thing to consider is what exactly determines someone's identity? For example, I have a friend whose parents are from India but he and his sister were born in Hong Kong. So what does that make him, Indian or Chinese? :)

yeah, i’d be curious to find a “test” for everything…age, ethnicity, discipline, gender, mix, etc…i guess there is that TV show by mr Penn of Penn and Teller called “Identity” where the point of the games is to math people to a discipline such as baseball player, son of a basketball player, violinist, singer, gogo dancer, etc…pretty interesting..

Whoa, I thought that I was decent at spotting a fake smile but I was pretty much hit or miss with a 12/20. I was focusing more on the time it would take for someone's face to return to normal, since fake smiles usually can "rid" themselves of emotion pretty quickly and return to a blank face more quickly, but it looks like I was wrong. :) (<em>real smile BTW</em>)

As for AllLookSame, I actually did worse than before with an 8/18. Then again, I have trouble at times differentiating between Hispanics, Arabs, and Indians (from India) and I'm Latino, so it isn't surprising. :)

cheers to your scores...the asian test I vary off and on...I retake it yearly, and at times I'll get 18/20, and sometimes 5/20.
As to the smile test...i'll have to retake it yearly now again..person take pics of my friends doing both, and make it a fun evening game.

Feeling confident about my results (14 of 20 also) I tried the Asian test and got them all wrong - except I got all the Koreans correctly - weird.
